Whats up with ANC

Hello crafters,

Hope you have been well.

These last few months have been supremely productive and busy at ANC. So let me bring you up to speed with the events and what’s brewing here for the holidays:

  1. I completed my 4th marathon this year at Sydney. It was the most gorgeous route and had so much fun with friends and family. Running is such an awesome way of calming down for me. I can totally listen to podcasts and run for hours at a stretch. Do you run/exercise/swim/bike to sort-of-meditate? Photo 18-9-17, 9 41 22 am
  2. I processed my first wholesale order for the holidays. It was so much joy creating those beautiful bags. I love the whole process of choosing the fabrics all the way to shipping the bags.
  3. I am now getting ready for the holiday market organized by Etsy here in Canberra. ANC is in production full swing and have purchased gorgeous fabrics for the holiday season. If you would like to order in bulk (>5 bags) contact me on anerdycrocheter@gmail.com and we can discuss more about custom made bags.IMG_3669.JPG
  4. The knitting project on my needles this month is this gorgeous lace scarf. I cannot keep my hands off of it. The yarn is Knitpicks Alpaca cloud in Sophia. It is super soft and I will keep you posted on its progress.Photo 24-9-17, 10 13 51 am

Get ready for loads of holiday songs, bags, trees, decorations, and clothes. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Work hard during the week and harder in the weekends.

Back to crafting.

Lace Knitted scarf

To challenge myself a little I started lace knitting in this scarf for a friend.

The pattern is super simple and easy to memorize. It is a free pattern and has a chart with it which turns out is far easier to follow for lace knitting. You can find free pattern for this scarf here. I just didn’t put in the nupp stitches.

It took me a little over 3 months to make this super long scarf. But I am so happy with the end product. It is completely worth the time. And the yarn is gorgeous.

I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Lace yarn for this and changed colors at the end of each skein.

Hope you are having a super crafty weekend..

Cheers.

Basketweave Blanket

This is a huge throw that I’ve been knitting as my brothers’s housewarming gift.

This is a super easy knit and is a free pattern. I used bigger needles (US9 while I usually use US7) to get the flow for a throw. I was also requested backing for this (which was a first). Since my mother is visiting she helped me out with choosing a backing and sewing it in.

Materials:

5 skeins of Pumpkin (caron simply soft yarn)

knitting circular needles (US size9)

Finished dimensions: 36X60”

Backing from Jo Ann in soft and comfy fabric and hand-sewed onto the blanket. This is so soft I cant explain.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Dont forget to join my instagram giveaway which is only till 1159am tomorrow

Lace Knitted Scarf

I am in love with Lace knitting right now and this has been an ongoing project for quite a while.

This is a free pattern by PurlSoho and it is called the wedding shawl. It is super nice. I like that it was challenging as a beginner  to lace knitting initially but after a few repeats I could memorize it.

Alpaca with a Twist Socrates fingering weight yarn

Size 2 circular knitting needles.

This needed a nice blocking session to show off all the lace.

Enjoy and have a great weekend.

If you follow me at all, you know I have used this pattern a number of times. I really love this easy pattern and have made it before in various colors. So here you go.
