Fall Blanket Hexagons!

My first hexagon blanket in fall colors is here. For this blanket, I was looking for a nice blend of fall colors. I used 5 shades from yellows-reds and brown.

The tutorial for solid hexagons that I’ve used for this blanket is available for free here. This pattern is super straight forward and you can basically modify the pattern by changing the number of hexagons. I just went diagonally. and I really am liking the way the colors blend into each other. This pattern in great for gradients. You can use closely related colors here and they’ll have an awesome flow.

I made these hexagons and joined them as you go. I will be posting a tutorial for join as you go hexagons and solid squares soon. This join as you go was for the last round of the hexagon.

I do not have any edging for this blanket yet and I am having the hardest time deciding if I should or not. So for now there is no edging.

I did make a bunch of half hexagons for squaring off the edges.

pattern for half hexies:

Ch4, join in the round by a slip stitch

ch3 (first dc) , *2dc ch2* three times, dc and turn

ch3, *dc in same space, dc on the next 2 dc, dc in space, ch2* three times, dc and turn

ch3, *dc in same space, dc on the next 4 dc, dc in space, ch2* three times, dc and finish off

As I said before, the last round you join in its space as you are crocheting it.

I promise I’ll have a tutorial soon. 🙂

Solid squares Crochet Blanket No. 4

This time I wanted to make a pixelly blanket I as trying to look for good color layouts. Finally played around with Word little bit and used this color arrangement. I really like the way the colors have turned out.

I used a join as you go, as I have in my previous blanket and this one, only this time I used two rounds of the color.

Shaded Circles crochet blanket

Hello fellow crocheters in the house!

I haven’t forgotten how to crochet. I know I have been knitting for a while now but crocheting is the really as much fun if not more. This project is super awesome. It is a free pattern.

I used a joining method I haven’t tried before for this blanket. I used the tight join method which is this one.

I am really pleased the way this has turned out, as I had to frog it a couple times the joining didn’t look perfect.

rounds

Materials:

Caron simply soft Off white, Light country peach, pumpkin and grape.

I made 8 circles of grape and 9 circles of the other colors. and placed them randomly. I framed them with off white to make them into a square (like in the pattern). Then I added a round of single crochet. Then I started joining them. They are joined by tight joining method but I went around with a half double crochet stitch in a continuous join-as-you-go method.

in progress

Edging: I framed this blanket with reverse single crochet edging which goes really well with the tight joining twists.

Spring Solid Stripes Baby blanket No. 3

Hello people,

This is the third blanket I am making in this pattern. It is a really simple pattern with some mindless knitting. Well not too mindless I made a couple mistakes on the way. You can check out the other two blankets I made in completely different color combinations- Midnight hues , in blues, and Verdant stripes, in greens and pink.

The idea behind this pattern is this really easy garter stitch blanket. I used a modification of this pattern which was made beautifully here.

Caron simply soft acrylic yarn in the colors of

Dark sage, Sage, Sunshine, Pumpkin and Autumn Red.

Finished dimensions: 24X31”

Changes to the pattern:

CO130

6 rows of garter stitch

K4 (K10 P10) till last 4 sts K4

(All wrong side rows are purl)

K4 P1 (K10 P10) till last 4 sts K4

Keep increasing by one Purl at the beginning of right side rows till there are 10 and then add knits till 10 and so on.

Last six rows garter st.

BO

I did a four sts edging. I have done a separate crochet edging before and that looks awesome too. You can modify (Like I did from the pattern) to increase or decrease the size of the diagonal stripes by changing the number of sts in the repeat.
