Textured stripes Knitted Blanket No. 3

I am loving doing these monochrome blankets for a custom order. They define the pattern so well.

Here is the third textured stripe blanket. This is where you can find the free pattern. I have made this in two different color combinations before. Here is the ravelry link for that.

I just used white, two shades of grey and black for this and went for the gradient.

Finished dimensions: 32X39”

Textured stripes Knitted baby blanket

Update: At the end of this post you will find step by step instructions for this blanket.

Hello beautiful people,

After a short but eventful break, I am back to the world of knitting and crochet. I always carry my knitting during drives whether it is 30 mins or 9 hours. Since I have been traveling, I carried a knitting project with me for the flight and they proved to be good company. After a lot of research turns out you CAN carry knitting on flights. So this blanket was ideal as it didn’t have too many colors or too much pattern. The pattern is easily memorizable and does not require constant attention.

The pattern involves an open star stitch. It is a super easy stitch.

R1: K2 *YO K3 (pass the first stitch of the last three over the other two). Repeat * across.

Even rows are Purls.

R3: K1 *YO K3 (pass the first stitch of the last three over the other two). Repeat * across.

This blanket pattern has four colors

Color A: 10 rows of open star stitch

Color B: 10 rows of stockinette stitch

Color C: 10 rows of stockinette stitch

Color D: 10 rows of open star stitch

I repeated this in the order of colors I wanted. you can basically use a color and also use random color combinations for this. I really like the texture that this stitch gives and stockinette balances it really well.

Evolution. ANC so far.

It’s been an year (yes exactly ONE year!!) since I started crocheting. It is unbelievable how much I depend on crochet now (True story, I NEED to crochet and not I like to crochet). Trying out all kinds of stitches and hooks it feels like a LOT but it is just a drop in the ocean. There is so much more to be tried and explored. An year ago I would have laughed at the thought of crocheting. But now I know how amazing it feels to complete a project successfully. I hope to make many more crocheted items in the future.

I dont think I would even have continued without knowing that people out there are liking it and encouraging me to try more and more different types of crochet.

Presenting the progress of ANC (:), A Nerdy Crocheter)! I cant keep accumulating all this crochet-love for myself I need to share this with all of you! All links are on the right side bar.
